Data tools on the phone
The Data pages of Workspace tools let you check the workspace’s data from the phone. They read what the web app built; creating a source, building a model, a blend or a Warehouse dataset happens in the web app. Open them from Account › Workspace tools. Each page shows when your role may open it in the web app.
Data sources
Section titled “Data sources”Data sources lists the workspace’s connections with their type, database, status and when they were last tested. Open one for its details and its Schemas.
Delete is offered to roles that may delete data sources. It asks first: “Delete this data source? Models, queries and dashboards that read it stop working.” Keep closes the question and changes nothing. To add a source or change its connection, use the web app (Connect data).
Data models
Section titled “Data models”Data models lists the models with their number of tables and fields, their version and a Certified badge. A model opens on its details, then its Tables, Measures and Relationships (from table to table, with the fields they join on and the cardinality). The phone reads models; building or changing one is in the web app (Data models).
Run a read-only SQL query
Section titled “Run a read-only SQL query”SQL runs one query at a time on a data source you can read:
- Choose the Data source.
- Write the query under Query, or tap one of your Saved queries to load its SQL and source.
- Select Run. The rows show under it with their count and the time taken (“Rows: 5 · 84 ms”).
Honest limits:
- One
SELECTat a time. Changes to data are refused, and your row-level access applies, as in the web’s SQL editor. - The phone asks for at most 500 rows and shows the first 200 (“Showing the first 200 rows.”).
- Saving a query, the schema browser and exports are in the web app.
The visual query builder
Section titled “The visual query builder”The visual query builder (sources, joins, unions and steps on a canvas) is web-only. Continue on the web at the end of the SQL page opens it in your browser (Visual query builder).
Data quality
Section titled “Data quality”Data quality shows the workspace’s scores (Overall score, Completeness, Validity, Freshness), Stale tables and the Last scan, then the open issues with their table, the rows they affect and their severity.
On an issue, roles that may change data quality see Mark fixed and Ignore (“Ignore this issue? It leaves the open list.”). Both ask first. Tests and profiling are set up in the web app (Data quality).
Catalog
Section titled “Catalog”Catalog lists the assets you can open, with their type, domain, owner and whether they are certified, metrics included: up to 500, dashboards first, then metrics, models and data sources, each by name. It is read-only on the phone; searching every asset, ownership, domains, the glossary and lineage are in the web app (Catalog).
Blends
Section titled “Blends”Blends lists the blends (models that join data across sources) with the two sides and how they join. Building, editing and running a blend is done in the web’s visual editor: Continue on the web opens it (Cross-source blends).
Warehouse
Section titled “Warehouse”Warehouse lists the datasets in the managed warehouse with their row counts, status and last refresh. It shows when your licence includes the Warehouse. Importing, refreshing, scheduling and deleting tables are done on the web (The Warehouse).
