Connect DataBusiness Apps

Notion

Notion is in Preview in the connection wizard: it is built on Notion’s documented API and has not yet been proven against a live account, so check the imported tables before relying on them. Only the databases shared with your integration are visible; each of their data sources becomes a table.

  1. In DataSquares, open Data Sources and choose Connect Source. The Connect a data source page opens.

  2. Pick Notion on that page (search or browse by category).

  3. Fill in the connection details below, then test the connection and save.

Field What to enter
Integration secret notion.so/profile/integrations → your internal integration → Secret; then share each database with it (••• → Connections). Stored encrypted and never shown again.

Test Connection lists the tables with these values; nothing is saved until you import.

Pick the tables to import — each one becomes a table in the source:

Find tables lists the tables in your Notion account (up to 1,000); every one is picked to begin with, and each you keep becomes a table named after it — one source imports up to 200 of them. A refresh reads the same tables under the same names, even if one is renamed in Notion.

Each row keeps its page id, url and created/edited times, and every property becomes one column of its plain value: text as text, a select or status by its name, multi-selects, people, files and relations joined with commas, a date as its start (its end, when it has one, in <property> end), and formulas and rollups as their result.

Every table is read through all of its pages, nested fields become parent.child columns, and the whole set is imported at once: the import’s row and size limits count the picked tables together, and if they pass one, nothing is imported and the message says which table and which limit. Refresh the source on a schedule, or by hand, to re-read every table; a table that comes back empty is refused rather than emptied unless you allow it. Nothing is ever written to Notion.

The requests follow Notion’s API reference.
