Connect DataBusiness Apps

Salesforce

Salesforce is available in the connection wizard when the SaaS pipeline runner is enabled on your DataSquares server. Pulled by pipelines (Extract → SaaS); Test Connection checks the domain, the credential is proven on the first run.

Salesforce data is pulled by the pipeline worker’s sandboxed connector runner, which an administrator provisions and then enables with SAAS_RUNNER_ENABLED=true on the API. Until then the wizard keeps the tile closed and says so; once it is enabled, follow the steps below and Test Connection to verify the credential.

  1. In DataSquares, open Data Sources and choose Connect Source. The Connect a data source page opens.

  2. Pick Salesforce on that page (search or browse by category).

  3. Fill in the connection details below, then test the connection and save.

Field What to enter
My Domain The name from <myDomain>.my.salesforce.com. e.g. acme
Username e.g. integration@acme.com
Password Your Password.
Security token Salesforce → Settings → Reset My Security Token.

Test Connection proves the credential where the vendor allows a cheap authenticated call; the data itself is pulled by a pipeline (Extract → SaaS), so this connection is not a SQL source you query directly.
